Murmuration - Clari Elliott

Synchronised flights ---

Air pirouetting,

Whirring,

Flitting.

Exuberance swallows

Delicate ballerina figures of that sea shelled jewellery box

Broken twinkling

Forlorn and melancholic

in her mind's ear.

The air of flight

Memorising and mocking

Her gravity.

The rush of life and melodies of spring

Cacophonous

Consuming

They breathe new life

She thinks of the gifts of suet

In the final stages of life.

His admiration for the birds

As he greeted and lost each day.

What happened in between -

What happens now in between --

In between

Losing sight

of them

And their

sounds.
