Drown - Andrew Shields
I said you said you said I said
you took the words out of my head
I took the lies out of your mind
you were not nice I was not kind
you thought I knew you knew my thoughts
I doubt you know you know my doubts
I'm not too tough you are too rough
you are too much I'm not enough
whenever I'm near you I cannot decide
if I should forget you or swallow my pride
you ate my frown I love your gaze
I want your nights you want my days
you make me burn I make you ache
you make a mess I make mistakes
you tell me off I tell a joke
when I'm profound you just provoke
when you realize what games I play
you turn around I turn away
pennies for thoughts, are you flipping a coin?
heads you'll be staying; tails you'll be going?
tell me about it after we drown
sorrow at midnight; take me downtown
