A memory divided - Helen Bowie

the heady summers of 2005

to the bitter winters of 2007

the oscillating in the midst

a wallflower in the underpass,

comforting myself with fresh blacklists

the convex mischief-maker

tearing my tights on bombweed

Tish, love you always xxxxx

council-issued beige

hunkered inside the tunnel

the graffiti

for vanity and for safety

highroad from the rails,

splattered, grimace

brown with disillusionment

keys between fingers,

and the symbolic divide between opulence and survival
